MARK J. COLUCCI, OF COUNSEL

Mark Colucci has served as business counsel to executives, owners, and investors for more than 30 years. Mark guides startups for growth and compliance, serves established businesses as outside general counsel when legal matters mount, and leads buy-side and sell-side parties in acquisitions and divestitures of equity and assets. During his career Mark has negotiated billions of dollars in complex contracts, navigated numerous companies through business transitions, and served as a trusted client advisor on critical “bet the business” matters.

Mark has unique real-life business experience having served as Vice President and General Counsel for DEFENDERS, Inc., from 2009-2020. Mark led the legal department of in-house attorneys, oversaw company compliance, and directed the corporate audit team. With more than 1,500 employees in 45 states, Mark kept the executive team informed and prepared on current and potential legal and regulatory matters at the state and federal level.

Prior to Mark’s work at DEFENDERS, he was a senior partner with KGR, helping small businesses develop and mature businesses expand. In 2020 Mark formed his own law firm specializing in business transactions, employment matters, and corporate governance.

Mark also advises on brand and intellectual property protection, real estate matters, and corporate governance. His wide range of legal and entrepreneur experience brings tremendous value to KGR and our clients.

Mark enjoys travelling with his wife of 35 years, and their 3 children. He is also active in jail and prison ministry both on his own initiative and through Prison Fellowship. Mark spends his spare time reading history, exercising, and working outdoors.
